What Tarot Card are You?

Posted on Feb 9th, 2007 by Rodrigo : Holographic Kinetics Student Rodrigo

You are The Sun

Happiness, Content, Joy.

The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.

Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.

The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.

Business Ethics - Discrimination At Work

Posted on Oct 29th, 2006 by Rodrigo : Holographic Kinetics Student Rodrigo
Hi again,  this is the essay my friend did for his course, he asked me to share it with people - please post a comment, he would love to hear feedback on this issue.

----
Business Ethics - Discrimination At Work

I see racial ignorance in the work place and outside of work through delivering pizzas and as a Security Officer. I also see racial discrimination due to this and because of a lack of intelligence to both parties that are doing the discriminating and those being discriminated against. I would like to say that I am not now, nor have I ever been a racist nor have I tolerated racism. I do not believe that a person's skin color, their gender, their sexual preferences, or their ethinical history should be a decision to discriminate against anyone.

Having said all of this I know that racial discrimination does happen. Do I think that affirmative action can be a good thing? I think that if it was done properly and with good judgement that it could definately be a good thing. However, over the small amount of time that I have been on the face of the planet Earth I have seen a major negative trend towards affirmative action having gone to the far end of the spectrum.

In this day and age, affirmative action has gone to the extreme point of where a single white male individual has more luck in working at McDonald's than getting a job at a company that has sought to be "politically correct" in it's hiring and managerial structure, no matter if the white male has more experience, more schooling, or more intelligence. On top of this I see that reverse discrimination is just as bad as discrimination. If you are not a part of the solution you are a part of the problem in my opinion.

I am a single white male, and I have had reverse dicrimination thrown in my face very recently. Being a Security Officer I had a black female come into the Hospital where I work under the Baker Act, which is a mandatory hold until a psychiatric evaluation can be done at a psychological facility after medical clearance through our Hospital. This woman was totally belligerant toward the 3 white male Police Officers that brought her in, towards myself and other white staff, and even towards a black Security Officer who she called an Uncle Tom.

Once the situation was de-escalated and the Police Officer left I was left to monitor several Baker Act patients and this woman chose to throw that I was a "white man" working for the Man and keeping her a prisoner, blah, blah, blah. I turned around and asked her, if I once used racial or ethincal slurs towards her. She stated that no I had not. I also asked her if I had used foul language towards her. She stated that I had not. I then asked her then why would she bother to use those type of things against me and she apolgized and we actually talked and she calmed down even further.

This may not be a perfect example of the racial discrimination that the assignment was referring to, but was that such a difficult thing for me to do? Not at all. I really can not stand racial discrimination, or the use of the "race card" in someone's defense when it was never played against in the beginning. My opinions about racial discrimination, racial profiling, and racism in general hold to my standards of my original assignment in Unit 1. I see racism as a total waste of time in my opinion. I do not judge a person on the color of their skin, I do not judge a person at all, until they choose to do something stupid like hurt myself or other individuals I care about.

That's the assignment. This part below it is what I posted after that.

I just posted this elsewhere and though I'd share it with you guys. A message of peace needs to be focused on and not hatred.

We should be striving for Unity through Diversity. What I mean is, you draw on the diversities between the different groups of people. It can be done as it's similar to a marriage between a man and woman. Does the man do everything one way? Of course not and that's why the woman completes him and adds to him and vice versa.

It can't always be done and it can't always be done to perfection since there's no such thing as a perfect world, but if people even tried they might be surprised to see how easy it is to do this.

Why is it that a white man, a black man, a hispanic, a Hebrew, an oriental man can not get along? It sure isn't because they didn't try. It's because the media focuses on those few stories about racism and explodes it out of proportion and because people seem to only want to read the headlines. Am I saying the media does this on purpose? Well, to an extent, yes. I don't mean this is some extremely large conspiracy of the media, although I can see how it might appear that way and sometimes it can be that way.

What sells a newspaper? Sex, controversy, death, mayhem, destruction, racism.

Why is this then? It's because people would much rather read about a 5 car pile up and the mass destruction than some story about a 50 year old woman and her kitten and grandson who made a positive change.

Don't get me wrong, I like Monster trucks, guns, TNT, and a little bit of carnage like every red-blooded American, but who needs that all the time? I sure don't.

We as a society need to be focusing on the positive changes and how to make life better than focusing on negative things and how to tear our own society apart.

So we see a story in a newspaper or the 6 O'clock news about a terrorist attack that has killed 25 people from a car bomb or some other stupidity. What positive things can we find from it? You see that the survivors are drawn closer together. You see that now we have learned not to just get in our car without looking it over. You learned that you need a car alarm so no one can tamper with it. The list goes on and on.

Do I mean to say it takes this drastic a thing to happen to learn these thing?

No.

What I am saying though is not to JUST focus on the negativity that has happend, but to find what positives about the story you can and try to learn from it. The same goes for some ignorant red-necks dragging a black man behind a truck in Texas, like what happened a few years back. Quite obviously these men don't see the value of life, or racial equality, or intelligence now do they?

Well, not every person can be gotten to when it comes to racial harmony...but we can try. You can try, I can try, the person next door can try.

I'm going to end this post with a link to a video and song on YouTube about acceptance and harmony. I don't know how many people have seen this but I love the song and the message the video had about it.

The name of the band is "The Sick Puppies" and the message that is being conveyed here is that one hug can change someones life.

By the way, I almost went and got cardboard and found a spot on the street to do this, but time just didn't allow for it and I may still do it. A very powerful message if you listen to the words of the song. This is now My favorite song of all time. I played this literally 500 times already and I'm listening to it right now as I type this message of peace.

"Sick Puppies" on YouTube :

Free Hugs. A message of peace and harmony in a time when hatred is all around : Juan Mann/One Man

We need peace now more than ever in a world gone wrong. I am not saying I am perfect, nor am I saying that because I am an American I am special. Not in the least.

I am a human being first.

We all have red blood.

We all pee yellow.

We all have skin.

We all have grey brain matter, although some sure seem to have less than others.

We all have a soul, even though some don't seem to possess one.

I hope everyone knows that peace can be gained through the littlest of effort in extreme circumstances.

What I mean and am pointing out is exactly this. When that black woman screamed at Me and threw racial and ethnical slurs at Me, was it that difficult for Me to let go and not be phased by it?

Not at all. All I had to do was let it flow over Me like water off of a ducks back. It wasn't directed directly at Me. It was directed at "The Man", "The System", "Society In General."

I came to find out the real reason why she was so upset to begin with. Her daughter had kicked her out of the daughter's house and she was mad. The daughter then called the Police which escalated the situation. The Police were probably not the best to her and she reacted nastily, I am assuming this part of course. One Officer had been bitten, a senior Officer of 12 years.

We all know the Police "never do anything wrong" don't we? ~note the sarcasm~

Anyway, the woman calmed down with Me and I talked to her a bit more. The situation resolved itself and was de-escalated through words. I did not have gun, a tazer, or handcuffs, or baton on Me.

Think about this for a minute.

Words have power, if you use them wisely. If you use them with little to no wisdom then you get exactly what you used in return, little to no wisdom returned.

Peace, prosperity, and knowledge to all.

Racism? Lets go back to the basics please...

Posted on Oct 29th, 2006 by Rodrigo : Holographic Kinetics Student Rodrigo
Hi everyone,

A good friend of mine posted an assignment on racial discrimination to do with his course on ethics. I wrote to him what i've written many many months ago - and thought i'd share it here with you all.
------

There’s an electrician, a plumber, a conspiracy theorist, a muslim, a christian and a child sitting at a table. All of a sudden there’s a *bang* and the lightbulb above the table goes out.

Electrician says: “Must be the wiring, a fuse must have blown”
Plumber says: “Probably the burst water main had gotten to the fuse box and burst the fuse”
Conspiracy Theorist says: “You’re both full of it, you’re both in on it aren’t you? you’re government workers aren’t you? Now I have to fork out MY money to spend something you’s screwed up”
Muslim says: “Praise Allah nothing else went wrong”
Christian says: “Praise the lord nothing else went wrong”

The child looks at them all and says: “There was a *bang* and the light went out”.

Its so basic. You see blacks, whites, asian, arab, gringo (and all other ethnic races) children playing together in the schools. They have no basis to be racial. The racial discrimination comes from a BELIEF system of NON ACCEPTANCE of one another. These belief systems regardless whether they are true or not have molded societies into wanting to judge one another for their beliefs. Ok here’s two quotes I have come across, one by a very good friend, and another in a book I read…. They are:

“Its not our thoughts that causes problems, but our attachments to them”
And
“Its not WHAT you believe but WHY you believe it”.

Go back to being the way a child things. Don’t use the ego, don’t use the judgemental and the ‘I’m better than you’ part of the brain (left). Use the right – the spiritual side, the one that connects to all other right brains out there. Go back to the source. Go back to the inner feeling of loving everyone as you did as a child. Why judge one another because of differences, come on its time to wake up people. The world MUST change for the better, the time is NOW to do something about it.

Love one another, accept one another, give a total stranger a hug, introduce yourself to someone and compliment them for whatever you feel is right.

What you love about someone, is what you love about you.
What you hate about someone, is what you hate about you.
What you fear about someone, is what you fear about you.

Adolf Hitlers ancestors are part Jewish…. Makes you wonder doesn’t it.

Love, Peace, Compassion

Sick Puppies, All The Same - Song Lyrics to Juan Mann Video

Free Hugs Campaign. Inspiring Story! (music by sick puppies)

Some of you have now watched the inspiring video of Juan Mann, who went out of his way to give free hugs to put a smile on people's faces.  I have searched for the song lyrics to the video, and I have found "Alvin's" interpretation.  Here they are for your reading pleasure :)

-------------
I don't mind where you come from
As long as you come to me
I don't like illusions I can't see
Them clearly

I don't care no I wouldn't dare
To fix the twist in you
You've shown me eventually
What you'll do

I don't mind...
I don't care...
As long are you're here

Go ahead tell me you'll leave again
You'll just come back running
Holding your scarred heart in hand
It's all the same
And I'll take you for who you are
If you take me for everything
Do it all over again
It's all the same

Hours slide and days go by
Till you decide to come
And in between it always seems too long
All of a sudden

And I have the skill, yeah I have the will
To breathe you in while I can
However long you stay
Is all that I am

I don't mind...
I don't care...
As long are you're here

Go ahead tell me you'll leave again
You'll just come back running
Holding your scarred heart in hand
It's all the same
And I'll take you for who you are
If you take me for everything
Do it all over again
It's always the same

Wrong or right
Black or white
If I close my eyes
I's all the same

In my life
The compromise
I close my eyes
It's all the same

Go ahead say it you're leaving
You'll just come back running
Holding your scarred heart in hand
It's all the same
And I'll take you for who you are
If you take me for everything
Do it all over again
It's all the same

First Meditation session ever - unbelievable

Posted on Oct 12th, 2006 by Rodrigo : Holographic Kinetics Student Rodrigo
Buddha
I would like to share my experiences with the first meditation session i've ever had.  It was a group meditation effort, and I will continue doing so until I have the courage to do it on my own.

The group was being guided by a Buddhist Monk.  Rules stipulate that when approaching the Monk, not to stand over them, but sit comfortably infront of them on the floor if they are sitting on a chair.  I understand this is a sign of respect.

I found the other rules were for respect of the Monk, and I believe this to be fair enough.

We started the meditation session by imagining golden honey pouring over our heads and feeling the sensations as it passed through our body.  At times I did not hear the monk, so intstead of interrupting the class, I focused on my breath.

What I felt was very unusual.  I could 'feel' , my blood being pumped around my body, at times i could slow down the beat of my heart, and even then, I realised that my heart was about to skip a beat, and this was usually when I had fully exhaled.

I then kept breathing in through the nose, and out through the mouth, and as I breathed out slowly (as slowly as possible) the air was being pushed out by the blood pumping through my lungs!  What an amazing feelings.  As if my heart beats 'badda boom, badda boom', my breath was going 'out, out, out out'.  Then the same as I was inhaling.

I was really relaxed at this stage.

My mind started to wander - I could hear the clock ticking, i could hear the roof crackling, cars driving by, fans going around, at times it would all be focused on one sound - then at other times, it was the culmination of all sounds.

I then realised that the ticking of the clock was slowing down!  I didn't understand what was going on.  I didn't actually ask either, I figured I will find out in my own time.

Once all this had passed, memories started to surface, however there was no judgement to it!  It was just there! I did panic a few times, but it subsided when I realised that I couldn't change the past, and that trying to fix it in the future was too far away, so only when i realised that I should only be in the present moment that the panic and fear went away.  Then thoughts then dissapated.

The meditation was half an hour long - my wife and I thought it had only lasted 10 minutes!

One of my goals is to be humble - I suppose writing what I experienced is a form of my ego saying 'look what I have done'.  As I begin to change, then you may notice my blogs also changing.

Love, Peace, Compassion.

The story of Juan Mann that is trying to change the world.

Posted on Sep 29th, 2006 by Rodrigo : Holographic Kinetics Student Rodrigo
Hi everyone,

This is my first blog post, I had been studying for the last 4 or so years into the truth of everything, most of the time it lead me down a dark alley.  All my life I was an outcast for some reason, I had a sense of not belonging, and also had visions when I was younger.  I drew many things in art class, not knowing why i had to draw them - they weren't even things I particulary liked,  yet i drew them,

I liked certain shows to please certain people, I listened to music because my friends did, yet there was only one thing that I found that was natural for me, and that was the first time I heard the band LIVE.

Something drew me to this, it was inspiring - yet for some reason for many years i didn't understand why i liked it, i just did - I didn't even start listening to words of music until many years later.  You see, I used to go into a form of 'trance' where i'd pick up all bits of information and stored it.  I would then bring this information up when something that connected to it was mentioned.  A 'recall'.  I only realised this about a year ago, the amount of surfacing information is unbelievable.  For some reason - i began to feel that everything was connected....

On the 18th of September this year, i decided to make a disconnection from a dark path.  I prayed and prayed for the truth to show itself to me. On September the 19th it did.

I had to pick up a book, i was drawn to it, i read it from start to finish, it took about 4 or 5 hours.  I KNEW what was being said....i understood this, for once i understood!  At the end of the book, I cried when I read the final passage.....

"The mystery will be solved on September 19th, 1974".....SEPTEMBER 19th!!!!!  The very day i read that whole book!  Although the year was incorrect, the date was RIGHT on the dot.  What drew me to read it this day!  All I was doing was PRAYING for the TRUTH.

From that day onwards my life change.  Instead of focusing on the negative aspects of life, why things were going so wrong...I allowed myself for the truth to be given to me, instead of searching...My birthday was Yesterday,,,I turned 27.  From previous studies..the number 9 represents the end of a cycle....This I believe now to be true.

Forgotten memories are now arising, POSITIVE memories, memories that made me feel good, people that made me feel good starting showing up in my life again, Money started to show itself to sustain myself.

Friends started sending me e-mail links, now I was aligning myself with the will of eternal force, the links were POSITIVE, no junk  mail filtered through.

I want to share the first link that I received.  It is called, the story of Juan Mann,

Please watch this inspiring video - I cried.  Its amazing that Juan Mann can change the lives of many people.  Connect - Grow, do what makes you FEEL good, when it feels good within yourself that you are doing the right thing, then you are on the right path, it took me so long to realise this.

Its amazing what one man named Juan Mann can do so much.

Love what is.  Change yourself and people around you begin to align with you that fit the same mode of thinking.  The ones that align with you, will stick with you no matter what.

Love, Compassion, Peace.
